The Caro String Quartet, supported by Jessica Hitchcock from Saibai Island, performing Schulthorpe’s “Island Dreaming” quartet. This piece is rarely performed, and provided a fusion of traditional Torres Strait songs and contemporary chamber music to portray a highly evocative image of life in the Strait.
Four students - Sarah Hayes, Felipe Lebensold, Amarin Siri and Danielle Tuazon along with lecturers Prof. Martin Nakata (Nura Gili), Stephen Moore, Prof. Richard Stuetz, went to spend a week in the most remote and beautiful place they had ever seen.
